In 1962, Primus (Bahco) ceased production of all liquid fuel stoves/lamps and AB Optimus acquired the rights to manufacture and market the stoves/lamps under the Primus trademark.
In the late 1990s, however, Primus resumed production of non-LP gas stoves with its Himalaya range of multi-fuel stoves.
Since then, Primus has continued to develop a series of outstanding liquid fuel stoves.
The Primus OmniFuel, posted here, is one of them, and it is definitely an excellent product.
Typical of Primus, it comes with three types of nipples, one for gas (0.45mm), one for white gasoline (0.37mm), and one for kerosene (0.28mm), allowing you to achieve the optimum air/fuel ratio for each fuel.
It has two fuel valves, one right next to the pump and one right next to the burner, and each has a regulating function to adjust the flame size and a fuel shut-off function.
In particular, the fuel valve right next to the burner has a very good flame adjustment response because the fuel path is very short.
The burner holder has plenty of room for alcohol at the bottom for easy preheating.
The service key comes with four different sized wrenches and a nipple cleaning needle.
This model does not have an air release screw, but it does have very nice features.
The nice features are that the fuel pickup tube (and pump) is attached to the fuel bottle at a slight angle, so by simply changing the orientation of the fuel bottle from ON to OFF, only the air pressure inside the fuel bottle will escape to the burner. At the same time, any remaining fuel in the flexible fuel hose can be removed. Therefore, when you have finished cooking, please use the above ON/OFF function before turning off the fuel valve.
It may take some time for the stove flame to extinguish, but you will not have to worry about 1) fuel spilling out of the bottle when you remove the pump from the fuel bottle due to the internal pressure of the bottle, 2) the fuel hose becoming clogged with residual fuel.
